Good News For Some

I’ve just got back in the office yesterday from my trip over to Europe. As I was saying last week, I went over to get the disc version of the game sorted out for Europe, Australia and other PAL regions. Everything has now been signed and I can confirm that we will be releasing a disc version of The Golf Club in those territories! I’m waiting on word back from our distributor about a proper full announcement, who they are, release dates, etc. So I’m hoping for a bit of news in the coming weeks.
Signing that deal is another great opportunity for The Golf Club community, it means it will continue to grow and give us the ability to keep on supporting it. It also meant that I could head over to Ireland for a family wedding with a little less on my plate….
…. Or so I thought! I got message from Sony last Thursday that all was good with the DLC build. I got on the phone to Rami immediately and couldn’t see a reason not to release straight away. Another thing lifted from my shoulders before the weekend. But it turned out not to be the case. Unfortunately there was a miscommunication between us and Sony and although the build was perfect they don’t start setting up the store until we pass submission, this stops anything appearing in the sales blurb that might have been removed due to bugs, etc. To get the store set up can take between 5 to 10 days depending on how busy they are. This process is a bit like the black box of the cert process. You never know quite how far along you are. I was hoping to get it out by this weekend, but I’m not that confident now. So it might be early next week now. This whole process has been a real eye opener for us and the 1st party guys we’re dealing with, but we have learnt a lot from it. I can only apologise again.
On a good note though, and one of the reasons I didn’t get time to write this yesterday was that Microsoft have published the update and DLC, the relief of getting that out the door was a very nice feeling and it will be doubly so once Sony publish it on their store.
We’re still working with both NVidia and AMD with the driver issues, we’re helping them track the issues down that they’re seeing. Unity are also helping us and NVidia think they’ll have to solve it with a new driver update. As soon as I hear anything I’ll let you know.
Thanks
Anthony
